Sound of Metal

The Sound of Metal Movie Poster displays pieces of the main character's life in an emotional and scattered way. As the plot develops we see the musician’s life drastically change as he begins to lose his hearing at an intense rate. With time not on his side and denial flooding his brain he is forced to adapt to his hearing disability and accept change where it is not welcome.

Therefore, while depicting these pieces that represent his life after the change I wanted to elevate the feeling of frustration and lack of control within the piece. I decided to place headphones in the center of the piece with a broken cord leading the viewer's eye around the poster. Using the cord of these headphones as a metaphor for him losing his hearing, as well as the lost connection between all of these things he once had in his life.
